 -Top seeded Shenendehowa knocked off their Suburban Council rival Saratoga, 62-54, to capture the Class AA sectional crown at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.

-Shen used a 16-0 run in the first half to turn an eight point deficit into an eight point lead, a lead that they would never give up. The Plainsmen margin grew to as big as 17, 52-35, with just under six minutes left in the game. However, Saratoga used a big 15-2 run to cut their deficit to four points, 54-50, with just over a minute left in the contest.

-With Shenendehowa in possession, Kaitlyn Watrobski buried a monster three pointer to give the Plainsmen the cushion they would need to survive against the Blue Streaks.

-Shenendehowa used a balanced attack as eight players entered the scoring column and three were in double figure scoring. Anna Milham had 15 points, Kaitlyn Watrobski 13 points and Catherine Almeida added 10 points.

-Dolly Cairns led all scorers with 27 points for Saratoga. Kerry Flaherty added 18 points.
