Saratoga outlasted Shenendehowa 57-54 in a battle of the top two girls teams in Section 2. The Blue Streaks rallied from sixteen points down, in the first half, and held on in the final seconds for the victory. Saratoga's Dolly Cairns scored all of her game high 17 points in the second half as Shenedehowa used a box and one defense to limit her chances on the offensive end early in the game.
The Blue Streaks produced a last period counterattack getting the better of the Plainsmen 13-6 by the conclusion of the frame. Dolly Cairns scored five unanswered points to tie the game at 51 with 2:39 left in regulation. After a Cairns free throw Abby Ray hit a clutch three pointer on a kickout from a scrum underneath the hoop to give the Blue Streaks a four point lead late, 55-51.

The Plainsmen held a modest 4-point edge heading into the fourth quarter. However, Saratoga used a 16-1 scoring run out of the break to grab the lead 44-39 with 2:47 left in the quarter. Shenedehowa then rattled off nine straight points to end the quarter with the lead.
Sparked by a great team effort in the second half the Blue Streaks outscored the Plainsmen 29-16 in the final two periods. That was the opposite of the first half when the Plainsmen used excellent synergy to grab a 38-28 lead at the midway point.
Shenendehowa held a slight 1-point advantage going into the second frame. The Plainsmen played as a complete unit in the second quarter turning a 1-point first quarter lead into a 10-point halftime lead.
The Blue Streaks used a tough hard-nosed effort in the third quarter and outscored Shenendehowa by 6 points.
Saratoga had a trio of players players in double figure scoring. Dolly Cairns led the Blue Streaks with 17 points. Natasha Chudy contributed 12 points. Abby Ray totaled 10 points. Lauren Patnode popped in 9 points. Katie Claeson picked up 9 points.
