The Cats built an 11 point lead midway through the fourth period but with 2:00 left in the game Ichabod Crane was within six points, 51-45, after an Alexa Barkley three pointer and a Carolina Williams hoop. The Riders stole the ball and were racing towards a breakaway layup to cut their deficit to four points and put pressure on Catskill. However, Catskill's Ava Edmond raced baseline to baseline knocking the ball away and saving it to a teammate preventing an easy score and getting possession back. Catskill used that spark to score the next seven points to pull away.

Focused play in the second half helped as Catskill outscored the Riders 40-21 in the final two quarters. That was the inverse of the first half when the Riders built a 28-20 lead at the midway point.
