Bishop Gibbons slipped past Hartford 58-48 in the Class D title game. Angelina Dietz and Mia Rose Wylie combined to score 41 points for the Golden Knights as they now move on to state regional action.
Bishop Gibbons held a small 3-point lead going into the final frame. This test of two ultra competitive teams kept fans on the edge of their seats through the first twenty-four minutes of action.
The Golden Knights concluded the tilt with clutch play as they surpassed Hartford by 7-points in the final frame. They used a 9-0 run in the middle of the fourth quarter to turn a three point contest into a twelve point lead.
Bishop Gibbons used an impressive first eight minutes and played excellent team basketball on their way to a decent first quarter lead 18-9. Yet, Hartford rallied in the second quarter and outscored the Golden Knights by 5 points.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half intermission with Bishop Gibbons ahead by a small margin.
