The Wildcats had a couple of chances to tie the game in the last minute but couldn't connect on a basket. Daheem Wilson made two clutch free throws with 3.8 seconds left to give the Cannoneers their final margin.

The opening quarter witnessed some offense, with both teams combining for 32 points. However, the second quarter saw a defensive battle, as the teams managed only 12 points, resulting in a tied game at 22-22 heading into the first-half intermission.
