Coxsackie Athens were clutch from the free throw line in the closing seconds and survived a last second three point attempt by Maple Hill to pull out a 44-41 victory in a Patroon Conference tilt.

The Riverhawks jumped out to an 11-7 first quarter lead. Baileigh Briski, who recently became the school's all-time leading scorer at Coxsackie Athens scored all eleven points in the frame. Maple Hill trailed at the half 19-17.

After back to back three pointers by Reaghan Hellen, in the middle of the third quarter, the Riverhawks opened up a 27-19 lead. The Wildcats battled back by the end of the period to tie the game at 29 heading into the fourth quarter. Sydney Rogers and Alexa Eaton both made two three pointers each in the Maple Hill run.

After an Abigail Palmer three pointer, with four minutes left in the game, Maple Hill held a 40-38 lead. That would be the last made field goal by the Wildcats. With 2:10 left in the contest Baileigh Briski hit a layup to tie the game at 40 and then she made two clutch free throws to put the Riverhawks up 44-41 with 4.4 seconds left. Maple Hill had one last attempt to tie the game but it didn't go down.

Baileigh Briski led Coxsackie Athens with 19 points, Camryn Slater 11 points and Reaghan Hellen 9 points.

Addison Loszynski paced Maple Hill with 11 points, Sydney Rogers 9 points and Rosilee Forrest 9 points.
