Greenwich used a huge second quarter to pull away from Mechanicville to win the Wasaren League Championship Game, 72-34. The Witches finish the regular season 20-0 and will be the #1 seed in Class C when the sectionals are announced next week.
Mechanicville played well in the opening quarter as they were tied at 13 heading into the second quarter. Greenwich outscored the Red Raiders 24-6 in the second frame to take a 37-19 advantage at the break. After a fairly even third quarter the Witches put the game away in the fourth quarter outscoring Mechanicville 20-4.
Brooke Kuzmich led Greenwich with 27 points, Bailee Wolfe 24 points and Jordan Wolfe 11.
Tanner Eiseman led Mechanicville with 11 points, Ava Gaspie, Elle Richardson, Halee Pasinella and Molly DiSiena each scored five points.
