The Northville Falcons successfully defended their Class D championship, rolling past Saratoga Catholic 68-38 in the title game at Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday morning.
The game started as a defensive battle, with both teams managing just six points in the first quarter. However, Northville broke the game open in the second, outscoring the Saints 19-4 to take a commanding lead into halftime.
Coming out of the break, the Falcons continued their dominance, putting up 26 points in the third quarter to extend their advantage. Saratoga Catholic showed fight in the final period but was unable to cut into the deficit as Northville cruised to victory.
With the win, Northville secured its second consecutive Class D championship, capping off a stellar 20-2 season and they move on to NYSPHSAA regional action.
The Falcons placed four players in double figure scoring: Hailey Monroe led with 21 points, Lily Klippel and Keira MacKey had 12 points each and Karla Hill added 10 points.
Addison Whitebeck led the Saints with 18 points, Sophia Ryan 16 points. Saratoga Catholic, finishing with a 13-10 record.
